🀰 Biography

Dellacher & Henneberg, two musicians from different corners of contemporary music with one, shared vision. Christian Dellacher controls the harmonics at the piano and Rhodes, while Andreas Henneberg manipulates Moog synthesizers and rhythm machines. Together, they create music somewhere between instrumental compositions, modern jazz, electronica and experimental sound design. Their work explores what happens when electronic sound design and acoustic instrumentation are given the freedom to interact without predefined boundaries.

Dellacher trained as a pianist before moving further into composition, arranging and conducting. His work as a keyboardist has taken him to the Cyprus Jazz Festival and stages in Leverkusen, Aalen and Dresden, while his work in arranging, composing and conducting led to collaborations with orchestras including the Dortmunder Symphoniker, NĂĽrnberger Symphoniker, Deutsches Filmorchester Babelsberg, Philharmonie Essen, Staatskapelle Weimar and the Symphonic Orchestra of Corfu. In recent years, his work increasingly explores the meeting point between acoustic instruments and electronics

Henneberg has been shaping electronic music from Berlin since the mid 1990s as a producer, DJ, live performer, label owner and mastering engineer. His work moves between techno, minimal and house, with releases and collaborations connected to labels including Get Physical, Bedrock, Desert Hearts, Katermukke, Systematic Recordings and his own SNOE and Voltage Musique imprints. Genres like indie rock, electronica and trip hop as well as his symphonic electronic project Synth Happens have found their way into his studio, often bringing acoustic instruments into electronic settings. He is one half of The Glitz, the man behind aliases such as Cascandy and HENNON, and has spent more than two decades developing his own approach to electronic music production, sound design and performance.

Their collaboration is built on a long familiarity with each other’s musical strengths, but Dellacher & Henneberg gives those strengths a new setting. Here, Dellacher’s instinct for harmony, improvisation and instrumental expression meets Andreas’ experience in synthesis, modular melodies, rhythm, sound design and mixing. Piano and Rhodes meet Moog synthesizers and machines, with neither side expected to conform to the other. Sometimes the difference is obvious; sometimes it isn’t. A piano phrase can sit inside a programmed rhythm without losing its sense of movement, while a synthesizer can take on a surprisingly organic role.

ACOUSMATICS is the first album that grew out of this way of working. The setup was deliberately limited and the music wasn’t written according to a fixed plan. They sat down, played, recorded and followed the material from there, allowing each piece to develop its own character. Some pieces retain the warmth and irregularity of live playing, others lean further into sequenced patterns, dynamic low-ends and the precision of the studio. Analog warmth sits alongside sharper digital detail, and there are moments when it becomes difficult to tell exactly where the acoustic instrument ends and the electronics begin.

On stage they bring ACOUSMATICS into a setting where the compositions can expand, change shape and incorporate additional instrumentalists depending on the space and context. The album marks the beginning of a collaboration built around curiosity, musicality and the freedom to follow an idea without deciding in advance where it should lead.

🀰 Biography

Born in Oslo, her curiosity has taken her around the entire world, and eventually she ended up in Berlin. Although settled in this busy cultural city, her closeness with nature, the mountains, forest and the ocean is still a corner stone of her existence.

A key motivation in her life is the discovery of new things, soaking up everything that makes her happy. This is probably a reason why she dives head first and with full force into new experiences, something you can recognize when you see her interacting with music. Music is one of her biggest passions, and this has spread out to every aspect in her life.

Currently she is the co-owner of SNOE, actively engaged in artist management in a well-known agency, music journalist, producing music and touring as a DJ throughout the world. A workaholic with a butterfly image… Fluttering from place to place.

„Lydi“ comes from the Norwegian words „lyd i“, and means „sound in“ or „volume within“. The name reflects her attitude towards the music she plays. Her main concern is not necessarily genre, but rather what it makes her feel, and that feeling she wants to experience together with the people on the dance floor. Deep and bassy you find her sound somewhere between techno and tech-house. Her style reflects her personality and is always fresh, vivid and happy. Beth’s distinctive sound definitely makes her a „must hear“ in the clubs and festivals around the world. Every show is a new highlight for her, and although she has played prestigious venues and festivals in cities such as Oslo, Berlin, Amsterdam, Toronto, San Diego, Rio De Janeiro, Copenhagen, Sydney, Melbourne and more, she has never lost the humbleness and thankfulness for getting the opportunity to share her music with the world and to everyone who makes it possible.

🀰 Biography

It all started in 2002 when Pascale was only 10 years old. The other kids would still try and fail at singing along with Las Ketchup’s “Ketchup Song”, while Pascale already developed a taste for electronic music. DJ Tomcraft’s banging “Loneliness” EP was the record that set fire to Pascale’s passion for electronic music – a passion that would soon become love. Despite of his dedication to House and Techno Pascale swam through a sea of genres like Rock, Punk and Hip Hop before settling for electronic music once and for all in 2007. There has been no turning back since. House and Techno became his best friends, always by his side, always on his mind.

His library grew with every day that passed and his desire to be the person that would stand behind the DJ decks grew even faster. Inspired by the nightlife’s energy and diversity, Pascale started his solo project “Pascale Voltaire” in 2013 and has been going strong ever since. His excellent instinct for the vibe on the dancefloor and his ability to read crowds quickly gained him a reputation among club owners and promoters.

Pascale’s energetic sets have opened stages for the likes of Âme, Booka Shade, Victor Ruiz, Patrice Baumel, Oxia, D-Nox & Beckers and many more. His sound is known to enthuse both national and international audiences and has gained him a well deserved popularity in the techno scene.

🀰 Biography

“Synth Happens” by Andreas Henneberg unites electronic dance music with a philharmonic orchestra. Live on stage!

When was the last time time you visited an opera house? Or did you ever? Imagine phat basslines and heavy kick drums together with the powerful sound of a philharmonic orchestra and more than 80 people on stage. No, it’s not just Mozart with beats. The musical concept of Synth Happens is based on existing songs and brand new productions from Andreas Henneberg himself. Affectionately translated into the world of classical instruments and rearranged for an impressive live show.

Let’s combine the extraordinary sound-wall of a full philharmonic orchestra with the fat grooves and weird synth lines of electronic club music. A crossover concert for an open-minded audience of all ages. It is made to give the audience a completely new experience, letting them explore and discover symphony orchestras, opera houses, theaters and concert halls in a new way.

Written by:  Andreas Henneberg   |   Arranged by:  Christian Dellacher   |   Production & Dramaturgy by:  Dr. Barbara Volkwein

Second Fundamental Contact – The immersive and interactive music experience

The search for musical and personal connection between audience and performer. Have you ever felt connected to people around you when hearing music? Now you can try to create that connection yourself with Second Fundamental Contact. Meet the artist one on one, get introduced to your instruments, and start the journey where you two create music together. The audience becomes part of the performance in this little experiment.

According to research by Daniel Levitin, music helps synchronising our bodies and brains. Neurochemicals in the brain and the release of endorphins are affected by activities such as listening to music and singing together, which in turn is linked to feelings of social closeness and connectedness.

But what does that look like in real life? And to what extent can these connections be made in a spontaneous meeting?

Some researchers believe that it is the rhythm in music that helps us synchronise our brains and coordinate our body movements with others. Research supporting this thesis shows how coordinating movement through music increases our sense of community and prosocial behaviour.

We use these theories combined with curiosity about music and human connection as a starting point for this artistic crossover project. When does a connection happen? How quickly can you build a connection, not through words, but through rhythmic sounds and intimate, personal exchange in sound creation?

Dive into the world of Second Fundamental Contact to find out!
